This workshop was created by UNCW's Class & Comp team to offer an in-depth look into the Position Management side of PeopleAdmin, from logging in, to search settings, to developing various actions. This workshop is designed for employees charged with entering position description (PD) actions in PeopleAdmin with varied levels of experience (i.e. Assistant/Coordinators, Dept. Budget Approvers, etc.).

This workshop is only for: Managers, Supervisors, Business Officers (Assistant/Coordinator/Dept Budget role in PeopleAdmin) that assist in creating and/or entering job descriptions in PeopleAdmin.

This workshop is designed to provide valuable information on writing effective and compliant position descriptions, as well as give you the chance to participate in activities applying each learning outcome. We will cover critical compliance components and primary elements of a job description, including proper formatting and structure, building and mapping position attributes, competencies, knowledge/skills/abilities, position requirements, and managing timeline expectations. End Result: A well-written job description that serves as the most important communication tool between the employer and employee. Skin color matters because we are a visual species, and we respond to one another based on the way we physically present. This session will provide participants with basic knowledge on an inner-racial phenomenon known as colorism: prejudicial or preferential treatment of same-race people based solely on their complexion from people who are part of their own racial background.

Every UNCW employee plays a part in making sure the university operates effectively and efficiently in order to achieve its objectives. Attend this course to learn about how having the proper internal controls in place can help assist your campus unit, and the university as a whole, meet its objectives. During the course we’ll also provide an overview of the internal audit process and discuss what to do if you suspect fraud.

Please note that this course does not provide credit towards the Finance Certificate.
