A beginner's guide to commonly used actions in Microsoft Excel. This interactive class uses coauthoring to give participants hands-on experience with commands such as:
  • AutoSum
  • Flash Fill
  • Format Painter
  • Freeze Panes
  • Number Format
  • Print Titles
In addition, faculty and staff will be able to:
  1. Transition from Excel on the Web to the Excel desktop application.
  2. Identify visual cues that indicate file location i.e., OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online or stored locally on a device.
  3. Share document links so recipients can see changes and respond in real time.
Please note: All participants should check their version of Office before training begins.

This workshop is designed for current and new UNCW managers/supervisors. Supervisors of EHRA non-faculty and/or SHRA employees are encouraged and, in some cases, may be required* to attend a Full Cycle Performance Basics for Supervisors workshop. This interactive training session will orient supervisors to the performance policies, tools, and resources, as well as provide talking points, strategies, and techniques to make the most of the Full Cycle Performance Program. Additional FCP Management resources and training tutorials are available on the HR website. *Per UNC System policy, all newly assigned, hired, or promoted managers/supervisors are required to attend New supervisors are required to attend supervisor’s performance appraisal training within the first three months of the manager/supervisor’s entry into the role. Emotional intelligence (EI) is a crucial skill set that will empower you to navigate the workplace with empathy, resilience, and effective collaboration techniques.

This engaging course is designed to equip faculty and staff with the tools and insights needed to enhance their emotional intelligence, foster a positive and collaborative work environment.



Key Learning Objectives:



1. Self-Awareness: Explore and understand personal emotions, strengths, and triggers to enhance self-awareness in professional settings.



2. Self-Regulation: Develop strategies for managing stress, adapting to change, and maintaining composure in challenging situations.



3. Empathy: Enhance interpersonal relationships by practicing the ability to understand and respond to the emotions of others.



4. Motivation: Explore the role of emotional intelligence in effective personal motivation as well as team collaboration.



5. Creating a Positive Work Environment: Understand the impact of emotional intelligence on organizational culture and learn strategies to contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
